Netherthorpe Academy has made best use of Condition Improvement Funding (CIF) to optimise the health and safety of an estate that combines aesthetic heritage spanning back 450 years with modern extensions.
The Task
Netherthorpe Academy, part of the Cavendish Learning Trust, noticed significant visible internal water damage which prompted a call to Eddisons, market leaders in preparing, securing and delivering Condition Investment Fund (CIF) projects for Academies throughout the UK. Eddisons approached Langley to investigate, assess and advise on the most appropriate way forward to improve the five flat roofs most severely affected across the educational estate.
The Outcome
“For the type of work, Reinforced Bituminous Membrane (RBM) was the right choice. We have an established relationship with Langley. I knew we could rely on Langley in terms of technical design support and advice, with regular (weekly) site inspections and updates. As we began work, further site investigations confirmed the need for a design change last minute, for which Langley turned around the re-design quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively. The school/ Trust is more than pleased with the finish and has peace of mind due to the independently-backed guarantee covering design, materials and workmanship.”
