This new seven-storey development on Pelier Street provides 17 homes for rent in a mix of one, two and three bedroom flats.

The Task

The development has used a brownfield site on the edge of a residential area next to Pelier Park and close to the mainline railway line to Elephant and Castle.

During the competitive tender process, Langley submitted a comprehensive waterproofing and sustainable roof system specification. This comprised Langley’s LABC Assured accredited TA-20 Flat Roofing System and BD Biodiverse Roof System. Our bid was successful and our approved contractor, Aldworth Roofing Contracts, was awarded the work to install the waterproofing.

The Outcome

“A key focus of the London Plan is preserving natural habitats and achieving a biodiversity net gain. The biodiverse roof system was important to this project, as the small footprint of the site meant there was very limited space for planting on the ground”

Phyllis Mensah-Twumasi, Project Manager at Southwark Council
