Langley earns praise from Ofsted for the positive outcomes of its apprenticeship scheme

As part of the Langley UK’s group of companies, Langley’s Social Enterprise aims to support the roofing and construction industry by delivering an apprenticeship scheme and training that has received government-approved status.

The Ofsted inspection reviewed three key areas of performance: leadership and management, quality of training and the approach to Safeguarding learners. These areas received high praise with the report highlighting that Langley’s “leaders are passionate about supporting local communities, predominantly recruiting apprentices from disadvantaged areas and underrepresented backgrounds.” Their ambitious curriculum has been designed to meet future demands and industry growth areas.”

During their monitoring visit, they observed that the training and coursework allowed, “apprentices to quickly acquire knowledge and skills which they successfully apply in the workplace, with trainers using a range of useful assessment methods to check apprentices’ understanding, providing constructive verbal feedback to help them achieve the highest possible grades.

The inspection team further recognised that, “The standard of apprentices’ practical work is exceptional, and they quickly meet industry standards.”

We are incredibly pleased that Ofsted recognised the impact of the high-quality training that our apprentices experience every day.”

“We took the opportunity to set ourselves up as a training provider to train industry apprentices as part of a commitment to provide highly sought after skills for the construction industry, as well as encourage new recruits interested in joining the roofing sector now and in the future.”

“Our apprenticeships are designed are designed in partnership with contractors offering people the opportunity to gain new skills and to progress into sustainable employment. We want to bring new talent into the industry and enable staff to develop their skills – whatever level they are at.”

“Langley will continue to invest in people skills development and ensure that learning is industry led. This will ultimately enable Langley to create a social value legacy that has a lasting impact on industry, skills, knowledge and training.
