Rated Strong. Across Every Category. First in Construction.

Langley’s Government Approved Training Provider has been awarded a Strong rating across all five graded categories under the new Ofsted inspection framework. The inspection took place on 17 February 2026. Safeguarding was confirmed as met.

That result matters more than it might first appear.

Since the framework launched in November 2025, only around 17% of providers nationally have reached the Strong standard. Langley is the first construction provider in the country to do so across all five areas: Leadership and Governance, Inclusion, Participation and Development, Curriculum Teaching and Training, and Achievement.

Inspectors found that apprentices achieve very well, completing their programmes on time with a high proportion earning distinction grades in end-point assessments. First time pass rates for functional skills qualifications are strong, particularly in English.
The quality of teaching was highlighted. So was the inclusive learning environment, and the strength of Langley’s relationships with employers and industry partners. Industry bodies and organisations including the NFRC, Travis Perkins, Islington Council and Skills England all contributed to the inspection process.
The Leicester City Council partnership was specifically noted. Its structured induction programme was recognised for removing barriers to learning and building apprentice confidence from day one. That is not a small thing. That is For Better Living in practice.

Callum Harrison, Head of Construction Skills and Training at Langley, said: “This result reflects the work the team puts in every day. Our tutors bring decades of real industry experience into the training room and our learners leave with more than a qualification. They leave understanding why the work matters and what the consequences are if it isn’t done properly. That’s what we’re here to build.”

Tony Silvestri, CEO of Langley, added: “Training has always been central to how we operate. This outcome is recognition of the standard the team has set and the commitment they’ve shown to getting it right. The construction sector needs more of this.”

Langley’s training centre operates on a block release model, with learners completing intensive training weeks alongside on-site employer placements. Provision covers apprenticeships at Level 2 in roofing, NVQs for experienced workers, and training programmes for internal teams and contractors.

A Strong rating across every graded area is not a formality. It is the result of tutors who know the industry from the inside, partnerships built on genuine commitment, and a belief that the people you train are worth investing in properly.

That is what this recognition reflects. And that is what we will keep building.
