What an incredible day spent with residents at the newly opened Harbour Place development in Workington. Through a collaborative Social Value initiative between ourselves and DLP, we donated 79 Amazon Echo Dots, one for every resident in the development, alongside volunteering our time to support device setup, digital skills training and confidence building sessions.
Working closely with the fantastic teams from Riverside, we delivered live demonstrations, provided one to one support and helped residents make the most of their new devices.
This project represents a combined Social Value contribution of £3,386 and 23 volunteer hours, helping to break down digital barriers, reduce isolation and support residents as they settle into their new homes. Residents can now access information, stay connected with family and friends, set reminders, listen to music, receive health information and enjoy greater independence, all through simple voice commands.
The impact goes far beyond technology
The enthusiasm from residents and the positive feedback received throughout the day demonstrated exactly why partnership working and meaningful Social Value delivery matter.
